BioMechanics Clinic

Manda Morris is an endurance rider, elemenatary school teacher, and clinician. The clinic will start at 9 a.m., but you can arrive a little earlier to get set up.

Manda works with riders from all disciplines and riding levels— pleasure, trail riding, endurance, dressage, hunter, show jumper, eventing! With a focus on rider biomechanics and communication with your horse, Manda has an uncomplicated and straight forward method of achieving results.

Would you like to:

  • Have better overall stability in the saddle?
  • Influence the horse in a positive manner that allows the horse’s job to be easier?
  • Be more efficient and effective in your riding and in communicating with your horse?
  • Learn how to gain awareness and strengthen the correct muscles in you and your horse for optimum performance?

COACHING

Information is broken down into easy to understand concepts that are suitable for riders at every stage of their learning experience. The coaching techniques are very streamlined. By increasing each rider’s body awareness and using innovative imaging techniques, Manda helps riders understand both what to do and how to do it.

The bottom line is that improvements in concentration, body awareness, and core muscle strength create incredible improvements both in the rider's seat, and in her horse's response to her body. These can be obtained in a very short time, defying traditional expectations. Learning then becomes satisfying, exciting, and fun!

CLINIC FORMAT

Sessions are 1 hour and with 2 students per lesson. Manda will work with one student at a time, and alternate with each student during the hour-long session. We will start the rides at 9 a.m., break for lunch, and resume afterwards.

THINGS TO KNOW

See the directions page for driving directions to our place. When you get into the driveway, the driveway splits. Stay straight, don't turn right toward the main house. Drive toward the yellow tiny house. You'll see a small red barn in front of you and the tiny house in front of the pasture. Drive through the double gate, closing it behind you as you come in. Park your trailer on the right side of the pasture, leaving the center open so people can drive in or lunge or warm up horses in the pasture. There will be four stalls and two paddocks in the barn to put horses. If not enough room, tie horse to trailer. There is water for the horses in a trough at the front of the large pasture and in the smaller pasture where we ride. I'll have water buckets for you in the stalls and paddocks. Please do not let your horse run loose and fast in the arena, as it ruins the footing.

If no one is staying in the tiny house, you can use that bathroom and refrigerator. There's another bathroom with a chemical toilet located on the side of the little barn that faces the road. There's no water in there, but there are wipes to wash up with and water outside the bathroom. The toilet works be pulling at the handle in the front to open the holding tank. Use the piston on the top of the toilet to flush it. Do not put anything except toilet paper in either toilet. If you have questions, please ask Carol. .

RELEASE FORM

Please print and bring with you a copy of the medical and riding release form. There are also extra copies of this in the tackroom in the barn.

LODGING, HOOKUPS & TRAILS

Hookups with water and electric, and the tiny house are available if staying overnight. You may want to trailride at Reimers Ranch or Pedernales State Park on Sunday. We are 17 miles from both parks.

RIDE SCHEDULE

The schedule will be added as we get closer to the event.
